Troubleshooting

Can't find someone?

Here's why a reporter, podcast, or newsletter might not show up — and what to do.

Why they might not appear

They don't have a public presence

Our database pulls from public sources. If someone doesn't have articles, a LinkedIn, or other public profiles, we might not have them.

They're too new

Recently hired journalists or new podcast hosts might not be in our database yet. We update weekly, but there's always a lag.

Your search terms are too specific

Searching for "John Smith TechCrunch AI" might miss "John Smith" who covers "machine learning" at TechCrunch. Try broader terms.

They use a different name

Some journalists use pen names, nicknames, or have changed names. Try variations or search by outlet instead.

They're not actively publishing

We prioritize active journalists. Someone who hasn't published in 6+ months might be deprioritized or removed.

What to try

  • Search by outlet only ("TechCrunch AI") instead of name
  • Use broader topic terms ("enterprise software" vs "B2B SaaS CRM")
  • Check for name variations ("Mike" vs "Michael")
  • Search by their beat, not their name
  • Try removing filters and searching more broadly

Still can't find them?

If you know a specific journalist should be in our database:

  1. 1. Email us at support@heyjared.ai
  2. 2. Include the journalist's name and outlet
  3. 3. We'll add them within 24-48 hours
